Consulate General Observes Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.

A ceremony to observe Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai to mark the anniversary of India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, aimed at altering the internationally recognized disputed status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). Members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities residing in the UAE attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, stated that the day serves as a reminder of the suffering, sacrifices, and unwavering struggle of the Kashmiri people. He paid tribute to the Kashmiri people who have demonstrated extraordinary courage and resilience, in the face of continued hardship.

The Consul General emphasized that August 5, 2019, was not merely a date but a turning point that pushed the Jammu and Kashmir dispute into a deeply concerning phase. He reiterated that India’s unilateral actions cannot change the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir nor undermine the Kashmiri people’s legitimate right to self-determination.

“Kashmir is not merely a piece of land; it is a history, an identity, and the embodiment of the hopes and aspirations of millions of people”, said Mr. Hussain. He underscored that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute cannot not be resolved through force or unilateral measures and that a just and lasting solution can only be achieved through respect for international law and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri cause, the Consul General stated that Pakistan’s relationship with the people of Kashmir was rooted in shared history, culture, fraternity, and a common struggle.

The Consul General urged the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities to continue raising awareness about the plight of the Kashmiri people, highlighting the facts, and playing a constructive role in promoting peace, justice, and human dignity. He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to extend its unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the realization of their legitimate rights.

Messages from the leadership of Pakistan expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people were read out on the occasion. The event also featured a photos exhibition and screening of special documentary highlighting the human rights situation in IIOJK.
