Observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai organized an event at its premises to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day 2026. Many Pakistani and Kashmiri community members based in the UAE attended the gathering. Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan, highlighting Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Kashmir cause were read out during the event.

Addressing the gathering, H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General underscored that the Kashmir issue remains a core humanitarian and principled concern for Pakistan. He emphasized that the right to self-determination of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) is an internationally recognized right, enshrined in the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, and must be realized through peaceful and democratic means.

Mr. Hussain highlighted that the unresolved Kashmir dispute continues to adversely affect peace and stability in South Asia. He expressed serious concern over the prevailing human rights situation in IIOJK, citing reports by international organizations and credible human rights bodies.

He further noted that curbs on freedom of expression and political activities undermine the basic human dignity of the Kashmiri people. Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peace, he stated that a just and lasting resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential for sustainable peace, regional cooperation, and economic development in South Asia.

The Consul General also highlighted Pakistan’s continued efforts to raise the Kashmir issue at international forums, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the UN Human Rights Council. Pakistan, he affirmed, will continue to extend moral, diplomatic, political, and humanitarian support to the Kashmiri people.

Speakers called upon the international community to play an active and constructive role to ensure the protection of human rights in IIOJK, and restoration of civil liberties, and resolution of the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions. The event also featured screening of a special documentary on the historical background of Kashmir issue.
